Shabby chic Essex village wedding

It’s not often that the first stop on a wedding day is to the stables, but for Jaime and Chris’ wedding that is exactly what happened for me!  Jaime’s horse Toffee is a huge part of her life, and for Jaime it didn’t feel right not to include him in her special day.  However, horses are not usually welcome at wedding venues – especially a tiny village church!  So instead I went along to visit him and take some photos of him dressed up with wedding flowers.  Jaime was concerned he may not like the camera.  But I made sure to take my time with him to let him feel comfortable around me.  I needn’t have worried – after 10 minutes Toffee was practically posing for me!  Amazing.

Not only was Toffee involved in the wedding, but so was Jaime and Chris’ dog, Radley.  People say never to work with children or animals, but they are wrong.  I had so much fun taking photos of Radley – we spent so long in the garden, she was worn out from running after me by the time we went back inside!

Jaime and Chris’ wedding was a perfectly simple but elegant wedding.  They were married at St Mary’s Church in the small village of North Stifford in Essex.  St Mary’s is a very pretty church, and the sun on their wedding day made the grounds a photographer’s dream!  The wedding reception was held at the Mardyke Valley Golf Club.  Jaime and Chris put a huge amount of effort into making sure all of their guests had fun: there was boxes of games and toys for all of the children to enjoy, beautiful grounds for the grown-ups to enjoy, and cupcakes for every single guest.  The whole day was very chilled and laidback, and every person there was genuinely so happy to see these two tie the knot.  By the end of the day even I was falling a little bit in love with them all!
